Stampin' Royalty Challenge #50

Well, .....long time no blog.    I think I am finally recouping from that horrible cold that is still prevailing in my classroom.    I made a lot of these little purses for gifts for all the wonderful people who take care of my daughter in her group home.   They hold a bunch of little chocolates or a Purdy's package of two Sweet Georgia Brown's also fits - needs to be squeezed in but it fits!    I will post the purses I made without glitter - I think I like them better but these are cute.    I just can't find at the moment the person's name I got this idea from - I bought a PDF file.   Many people have made these and I always thought they were so cute - a little time consuming but a very nice way to say thank you!     (and....I have been using up a lot of retired DSP which was a goal for me this Christmas).    I hope you check out all of the other marvelous creations the other Stampin' Goddesses have made - so many beautiful projects.

Merry Christmas

This card is for Crazy 4 Challenges - they are having a Christmas challenge.   I absolutely love Stampin' Up's Bells and Boughs stamp set.    I used Old Olive and Riding Hood Red - using up some ribbon I had left over from a couple of years ago.   I will admit that I have evens started playing Christmas music when I make my cards.

Gift - Matching Bag and little Scrapbook

This l ittle scrapbook is made entirely from retired 6" X 6" DSP sets.   I just punched two holes in and then put it together with little binder rings because when I tried ribbon, it actually ripped the paper and the pages didn't turn so well.    Every one of my students made a thank you note and then I glued pictures here and there and it was quite a nice little gift for my student teacher.    She was quite touched by it.

Thank You

This card is almost all cased from Mary Fish - Stampin' Pretty.   I just loved it when I saw it so I used the same colors that she did with the lattice die:   Pumpkin Pie, Expresso, and Daffodil Delight.  Her blog is ialways full of such great designs.   I only varied the sentiment and little bit of the design.

My last Hallowe'en

I don't usually make Hallowe'en cards or give them out but this year I just can't seem to stop.   My friends have just loved them and so it has been quite fun to share them with everyone.    I thought I would enter this card into Crazy 4 Challenges.

More Spooktakular Halloween

Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo #69 and Funky Friday Challenge
I have been making different cards to give out at Hallowe'en and thought I would enter this challenge.   I love the colors in this challenge.   It was fun coming up with a card using the pumpkin and pumpkin faces and the little spider I found last year.

Spooktacular Hallowe'en

I was needing some inspiration to make a few more Hallowe'en cards and I want to give them to all the people I have working in my classroom at the moment  - alot actually.    Hand Stamped Sentiment
was having a challenge for fall or Hallowe'en and I decided to try both of their sketches for two different cards.  All of the DSP is from the Wicked Fun Specialty paper in the new Stampin' Up Catalogue.  I bought that sentiment from Michael's one day because I thought it was so cute.    I haven't done a challenge for awhile and this one was really fun!    Thanks!

Happy Hallowe'en

I just love this card.   I don't usually do much Hallowe'en but my daughter and I sell our cards and I thought the people who usually buy them might like a few Hallowe'en cards.   I wanted to use the owl and I saw a card in the Papercrafts magazine that gave me the idea for this one.   I had previously also seen people use the Jewelry Tag Medium to make a fence and thought it would work for Hallowe'en.    The Little Boo stamp is retired but so cute!

Turkey Troubles

Well,   I never usually make Thanksgiving cards but was trying to make a fall card and thought why not add a turkey to it, but then I got to thinking, why not try to make a turkey.   Here was my first attempt.

This was okay, but I thought really not very cute and kind of big - The leaves made good feathers.  I went to Splitcoast and found a turkey there made with the five point flower punch.   I thought perhaps I could make something similar only using the scalloped circle punches I had and came up with this.
I thought this was much cuter and I liked the background.   The strips of DSP are from the Nursery Suite Specialty, Play Date and the Sweet and Sour Specialty.   I ordered a set of samples of 6X6 DSP from Anglea McKay and was great to have this paper to experiement with.
I used the scalloped circles to make the feathers and circles to make the body.   The wings are from the bird punch and I thought the vest from the owl punch would also be cute.    I made the feet by turning the "u" upside down from the Many Thanks Sizzlit die and just glued the "thanks" on.  By this time, I had spent fair bit of time making turkeys but liked the background so tried one more.

I just had to stamp this one and cut it out - alot easier.    Now I have a few Thanksgiving cards and have decided to send some out this year!   :)

Friendship

This cute little mushroom set is in the new Stampin' Up cataloguen- Funky Four on Pg. 93.   I thought I would use up some of my Dusty Durango cardstock because thse mushrooms look so great in that color.   Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip also make great little mushrooms.     My mother has a whole set of dishes with mushrooms so I sent this card to her.

Friendship

I made this card for a friend and am trying to use up some of my old cardstock.   I never really have ever used much purple but seem to be using it more and more in my cards.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #38

Well, this will be my last challenge with the other fabulous goddesses.   I am finding teaching my cute little Grade Ones absorbs alot of my energy and I have to rest alot because of my fibromyalgia in alot of my spare time.   I would like to make more cards and try a few more classes so have to watch how I spend my time a little more carefully.    Being a part of this great team has really stretched me and helped me become more creative and I am very thankful to have been a part of this team.   They are an extremely talented group of crafters and I hope you continue to enjoy their challenges.     The above tags are all made with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke and I am going to make this part of a class which I will hopefully have more time to put together soon!

Friends Never Fade Class

Well, this has taken me long enough to figure out all the technological aspects of making a class but there has to be a first time!   I have made a PDF file of instructions for these four cards if you would like to have it.    I am going to be doing some classes where I work.   I do have a PayPal account and will be asking $5.00 for the instructions for this class.  You can email me at shandastirk@shaw.ca  to request the instructions and I can email them to you.    Thanks for dropping by!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #36

Well.....this is very different from everyone else.   I went to put this one in and looked at everyone else's and thought......perhaps I have missed the boat.    But, I tried some different ideas and I kept coming back to this and the triangles in this folded card.   It is a little tricky but you just take a full sheet of paper, fold it in four and then fold two of the opposite ends over which makes the triangles.   I learned how to use the aqua painters to make the rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set from my upline Angela McKay.   I used Wild Wasabi to cut out the leaves and the scalloped square.    Be sure to check out the great ideas from the other goddesses!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #35

There are many fabulous designs for this challenge by the other goddesses and guest designers!   Be sure to check them all out.   I wanted to make a simple card and just used the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp set and Pink Pirouette and a few pearls.  I stamped the flowers onto the top note die and voila!

Mojo Happening!

Well - I have had a productive week this week.   More cards and even some classes will be coming - I just have so me technological things to figure out.   I joined a DSP share and have some 6" squares of all the DSP in the new catalogue.  You can check my upline's blog, Angela - she may be still sharing them.   It has been really helpful to see which paper I like.  I have been wanting to use this new stamp set since I got it in June and finally have had time.    I used the Dotted Scalloped Border Punch at the bottom to cover up a mistake I made when I was stamping the sentiment and it covered it quite nicely and even added to the design!

Stampin' Royalty challenge #34

I have been wanting to try an easel card for awhile.   I concentrated more on using neutral colors: Whisper White, Basic Black and River Rock.   I used the Barogque Stamp set for the swirls in the background and all the new punches from the new Stampin' Up Mini.   If you go to Angela McKay's marvelous blog - you will find a video which shows how to make an extra edge for the Decorative Label punch.  The flower in the middle is made from the Birds and Blooms Sizzlits 4-pack dies.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #33

I wasn't sure what to make for a school but since I teach Grade One I thought I would make a name tag.  Our first unit will be about apples so I stamped apples from the Tart and Tangy set using Real Red, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery.    I used the Serif Essentials Alphabet Bigz Dies to make the letters with Marina Mist.    I think I will have  to make one for my student teachers and assistants.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #32

This week's challenge is a color challenge - I find color challenges the hardest to do and ended up making the following two cards - very similar but I couldn't decide which one I liked better.
I thought then that I would try three ornaments.
I think I will use less Dazzling Diamonds next time - a little too clumpy.   I used the Snowflake Extra-Large and punched out snowflakes in green and just folded them over to make branches.  I am really liking the new color Cherry Cobble and want to try making more Christmas cards.  Be sure to check out all the amazing designs of all the other goddesses.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #31

I have been trying to make a few children's birthday cards for my Grade One's this year.   I had a hard time figuring out how to make this background and this stamp set is unfortunately retired but all my boys still seem to love dinosaurs.  I used Always Artichoke for trees and grass, Cherry Cobbler for the pteradactyls, Crumb Cake for the tree trunks, Soft Suede for the smaller dinosaur and Garden Green for the large one.  I think I could make some improvements but I think some little boy in my class next year will enjoy this card!   Make sure you check out all the other lovely creations by our goddesses.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #30

This week's challenge is to Keep it Simple Sweetie.  I love the new Marina Mist color in Stampin' Up and it goes so well with Night of Navy.    I used the new stamp set Punched Posies from the last mini.  I used both the scalloped circle punches and the 1 3/8" circle punch inside.  It was all very quick and easy.   I just cut a 1 1/2" strip of Marina Mist and punched it with the Scalloped Edge punch and voila!   Make sure you check out all of the other goddess's amazing creations!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #29

I have had this idea in my mind and wished I would have done it before school was finished.   This would be the perfect card to give to my tired colleagues at the end of June.    I just cut around a top note die and added two little flowers for the feet of the tub.   The bubbles are vellum and I could not resist the little duck which is So Saffron to match the layer behind Marina Mist.   The glue dots just made the bubbles look more realistic!   Four cups of epsom salts and lovely hot water, and a little ducky.....who could ask for anything more.

Stampin Royalty challenge #28

Well, I didn't have any stencils so I just used two circle punches
to punch a paper and then made a stencil.   Then I used a
sponge dauber to put in the colors: Old Olive, Night of Navy, and
Daffoldil Delight.          Then I stamped a few Circle Circus
stamps and punched them out and it was quite effective.  Make sure
you check out all the other designer's fabulous designs.

Stampin Royalty challenge #27

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge- I used the scalloped square bigz die to cut out a square and then trimmed in a little to make it fit a standard 4.25" x 5.5" card. Aren't the little bears too cute? They make a really good kids card! make sure to check out the other designers blogs and see what they have made this week!

Stampin Royalty Challenge #26

This week's challenge is "Seeing Double" - be sure to check out all the great designs of the other goddesses.  I found this color combination in the new catalogue.   I have always loved the "Inspired by Nature" stamp set and  I also used the "Watercolor Trio" from the Summer Mini.    I did double of every thing but decided to make the daisies a little different to add a little depth to the card.

Crazy for Challenges C4C43

Pink Pirouhette is one of my favorite colors.   I am still trying to use up older Close to Cocoa DSP which looks so nice with this pink.    I liked the sketch and all the amazing cards of the designers so thought I would try this challenge.

Hand Stamped Sentiment Challenge #21

I have been working on some packages of cards to give to friends at work who have helped me with my classroom this year.  Angela McKay, my upline, gave us each a little something at our last demonstrator meeting and I thought these cute little bags would make a nice gift so I cut out some flowers and put them on and can fit about six cards in them.   Little chocolates also fit in the extra space.   I just thought I would enter this into your challenge.

Anything but a Card!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #25

All the goddesses had a little difficulty with color challenge even though you might not be able to tell with all their fabulous designs.  Be sure to check out their amazing creations!  I used the flower layers die and texturized them so they popped out a little.    Thanks for stopping by!

Hand Stamped Sentiment Challenge

The sketch challenge has four circles in it and naturally the Circle Circus came to mind and I reached it before my daughter did but be sure to check out Sarah's blog because she made a marvelous Canada Day card with a new stamp set from Stampin' Up.    I looked through the new Color Coach until I found a color combination I liked and I love Marina Mist combined with Certainly Celery.   This was a great challenge and I enjoyed participating in it.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #24

Sage Shadow is a retiring color - I don't think I have ever used it before.   I guess I shouldn't say it is pretty when making a "manly" card  but it is a nice color.   My daughter Sarah, my friend Angelica and I actually worked together to come up with this design.   I love those puppies riding in the back!   I stamped the truck with Stazon and then embossed it with black powder.   I then outlined the truck with a Sage Shadow pen and used a blender pen to lighten it a bit.

Year End Thank You's

It is that time of year to say thank you.   (I always think of years in terms of Sept. to June - June being year end. ) My daughter Sarah made the strawberries and helped me make these thank you cards.   Inside the cards, my students have written individual notes to all the people who have helped us this year.   This is just the beginning.....     I liked the flower pots and it was easy to pick various colors and add the flowers.  The strawberries are so cute!

This card is cased  from the new Stampin' Up catalogue.   They have so many great new things and marvelous ideas with all their new colors!    The card is made from Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake.   I used  two stamp sets:  Fox and Friends, and Forest Friends.     I love making children's cards!

It has been a challenging year and there are many people to thank!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #22

The challenge this week is to take an old project and jazz it up.  The card at the top is a card which I made a while ago and didn't put a sentiment on it because I wasn't really happy with  and so left it for awhile.  This idea is cased from our Stampin' Up Demonstrator's website.   They have marvelous ideas and training for demonstrators.    This was a good challenge because it made me finally spice up this card.   I stamped Baja Breeze polka dots on white tissue paper and punched them out with the 5-Petal Flower punch and put it on top of the white flower.  If you punch tissue paper, you must put cardstock underneath, or it tears the tissue paper.   Ask me how many times I have forgotten!  :)     Then I added the Whisper White and Pink Pirouette punched with the Eyelet border punch.   I like it alot better but am thinking of this design with some lighter colors maybe for next time.   Be sure to pop over to Meilani's blog and see her lovely little boxes and check out all the recreations of all the other awesome goddesses.
